What is a Virtual Terminal and how to use it?
Flywire's Virtual Terminal is a way to record payments when an account search cannot be performed for any reason. Using a Virtual Terminal is common in a pre-service flow before accounts have been created in the client’s EHR.
Simply click on the Actions menu and select Virtual Terminal!
Note: It is best practice to always search for the payer using the Patient Search tab in the Staff Experience before electing to enter a payment through the Virtual Terminal.
How do you use the Virtual Terminal?
Once the Virtual Terminal screen is open, fill in the required fields:
- Account Number
- Patient First Name
- Patient Last Name
- Amount
If prompted, make sure to mark the "Account not found, I have confirmed the Account Number above" box , and then click Submit and follow the normal payment flow!
