Flywire supports two main revenue model types for clients:
Service Fee Model
The patient pays a Flywire service fee as part of the payment plan experience. The fee is shown to the patient during plan selection, confirmation, receipts, and related payment screens. This model makes the cost visible to the patient as a separate or included service fee.
Contingency Fee Model
The patient does not see or pay a separate Flywire service fee in the payment plan experience. Instead, Flywire’s fee arrangement is handled between Flywire and the client, typically tied to the client’s agreed commercial model. In patient-facing screens, fee language is suppressed so the experience focuses on the payment amount and schedule.
